Sneaker styles are changing quicker than closets can catch up. What began as unremarkable canvas designs from Keds and Vans has developed to encompass platform designs and flexible versions resembling socks. Then came a torrent of designer collaborations from Ganni, Wales Bonner, and Sandy Liang, followed by the newest shoe trend inundating the market.
This most recent change produced a surge of slender designs fitted with components taken from various well-liked shoe styles: Mary Jane straps, loafer features, and ballerina-inspired forms. Though they all have a comparable, sleek look, the ballerina shoe is clearly the front-runner for the season.
From Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid to Jennifer Lawrence, the shoe has already gathered followers in its brief existence; star Ana de Armas joined them as of yesterday.
On May 11, de Armas emerged in New York City wearing a new pair of tan ballet shoes. De Armas chose hers off the gilded racks of Louis Vuitton even although the above-mentioned celebrities favour companies like Puma, Wales Bonner, and Vivaia. Not only did she wear the brand’s popular $975 Sneakerina shoe, but she also styled her whole wardrobe around them.

Though her shoe comes in several hues including silver, black, sequin, white, and monogram, de Armas chose a stylish neutral pair. She styled them with a pair of loose-fit white trousers and a sandy-hued T-shirt, continuing the brown colour narrative across the rest of her ensemble as well.
The cherry on top of her all-neutral appearance wasn’t a cherry at all—it was something far better. Covered in Louis Vuitton’s distinctive LV logo, she ended with an XL crescent-shaped hobo bag from the company. With accessories like hers, neutrals are the contrary of subtle.
