Just like Beyoncé with her alter ego Sasha Fierce, Olivia Rodrigo shows two very different sides when it comes to fashion. On stage, the Grammy winner goes bold and edgy, rocking looks like fishnet tights, metallic bodysuits, and hot pants. But off-stage, her style shifts to relaxed, cool-girl basics. On June 8, however, both of these styles came together thanks to her choice of summer footwear.
Only 12 hours after her energetic Governors Ball music festival performance, Rodrigo swapped her daring performance outfits for casual street staples. Kicking off her look with Adidas sneakers, she skipped her go-to Sambas for the trendy Adidas Tokyo model, which is also a favorite of Jennifer Lawrence, Kendall Jenner, and Monica Barbaro. These sleek sneakers feature Adidas’ classic stripes and design touches inspired by ’70s running shoes, including suede uppers, leather lining, and rubber soles. Rodrigo picked an eye-catching electric blue version from the $90 collection, although other bright shades are also available.
Interestingly, her footwear moment didn’t stop there. Along with her Adidas sneakers, Rodrigo was spotted carrying a pair of Dr. Martens Jadon Boots—her signature tour shoes from the Guts World Tour in 2024. Maybe she planned to change into the chunky platforms later in the day.
Since the bold blue sneakers added a pop of color, Rodrigo kept the rest of her outfit simple and timeless. She wore a classic white crop top with short cap sleeves and dark-wash straight-leg jeans from Nudie Jeans Co., a Swedish denim brand. Her outfit was topped off with a pair of sold-out oval sunglasses from Karen Wazen.
True fans know Rodrigo rarely wears her chunky Docs outside of concerts. During the Guts tour, she wore these lace-up platform boots at least 100 times, from Miami to Paris and beyond. They often gave a grunge edge to her designer looks—like the custom rhinestone-studded skirt set designed by Michael Schmidt Studios.
Rodrigo even brought her Jadons to the 2024 Grammy Awards. When she performed “Vampire,” fans with sharp eyes noticed the boots peeking out beneath her romantic red gown by Naeem Khan. So while the Adidas Tokyos are new to her wardrobe, her beloved Docs are already well broken in.
