Singer-songwriter Demi Lovato said he was raped by someone he knew while working for the Disney Channel when he was 15 years old.
Lovato talked about the assault and made another revelation in the documentary series. Demi Lovato: dancing with the devil, Virtually premiered at the SXSW Festival.
In the series, she told someone about the assault, but the rapist said that “they never came out of the movie they appeared in,” and that even after the attack, “you should always see them.” This raises some serious questions about the Disney Channel, but the company has yet to release any statements about the documentary series.
She felt it was best not to name the perpetrators, and did not identify them.
“I was in a very similar situation when I was in my teens,” she said in the documentary series. I lost my virginity through rape.
She admitted that she and her alleged attackers were “connected” at the time, but also made it clear that she was not ready.
She said, “I was part of the Disney crowd who publicly said they would wait for them to get married. I never had a romantic time for the first time. That wasn’t for me. It was annoying. Then I had to see this guy all the time. So I didn’t eat I did it in a different way.”
Lovato suffered another sexual assault in the morning in 2018 for a drug overdose that was rarely fatal. She was found “blue and naked” after “used and left dead” in her own words.

The first two episodes of the series will first air on YouTube on March 23rd.
