I’ve always had big brows (thanks, Dad). Well—correction—there was a moment when I was 12 and, feeling super self-conscious about their Groucho Marx look, I shaved most of them off. My tween friends and I just didn’t understand the beauty of full eyebrows back then. Luckily, after spending a year with too-short, sperm-like brows (fellow ’90s kids will get it), they eventually grew back, and I’ve barely touched them since. These days, my maintenance routine is pretty simple: a bit of tweezing for shape and the occasional tint, either by pros like Joey Healy and Kristie Streicher—my go-to brow experts—or with some at-home beard dye. Seriously, let your brows grow freely, go to a professional for shaping that suits your face and vibe, and avoid getting too close to a magnifying mirror—it’s way too easy to over-pluck.
That doesn’t mean my brows don’t get daily attention. Along with tinted lip balm and lots of mineral sunscreen, I won’t leave the house without grooming them (see above: Groucho Marx status). My usual routine includes a few steps to fill in sparse areas, slightly extend the tails, and keep the hairs standing tall all day. If you’re aiming for full, fluffy, natural-looking brows, here’s everything I personally use and recommend adding to your makeup kit.
This is the original, the champion, the most essential brow product to fill in and shape your arches.

If you’re aiming to fake fuller-looking brows, nothing beats a longwear brow pen for creating hair-like strokes.

Sometimes you just want to swipe on some volumizing color and go—that’s where a tinted gel comes to the rescue.

This is for those who are rushed, low-maintenance, or just not in the mood—but still want their brows to look good. A clear brow gloss is a timeless essential that definitely deserves a spot in your routine.

I never finish my brow routine without adding a touch of highlighter along the brow bone. It gives a beautiful, light-catching glow and truly makes your brows stand out.
